Old News

11/8: Well, our first out-of-town gig - last night in Maryborough - was a little disappointing. Not that we played badly; far from it. We rocked!!! Thanks heaps to those who came from Bendigo to support us, they helped the local crowd get into it too, and there was heaps of dancing. It was the best gig we could ask for, with a really supportive crowd, and us playing beautifully. But we came 3rd of 4 bands. Two Maryborough 'hardcore' bands beat us, and Lounge Suite Mafia came last. The judges were Maryborough hardcore fans, and the band that won (who weren't good, although the other local band weren't bad at all, so no bitterness to them) were obviously picked to win before it started. But that's cool, we had a great time just being there. So apart from that minor disappointment, the gig totally rocked(!), and we're looking forward to next week's National Campus Bands heat. (In sort of un-Crouton news, drivewaY have come to their senses and decided not to break up. Yay!!)

8/8: It's Simo's birthday!!! Happy birthday to him (la la la). Anyway...It's been confirmed: we have the bus for this Friday's gig in Maryborough. At the moment, band members, Emma Loughran (very beautiful), Erin Clark, Josh O'Brien and Ben Mangan are going. There may be more seats available, and it's free (groupies get priority, not that anyone else probably wants to come), so e-mail us if you're interested. The bus leaves at 5:30!!

7/8: A bit of mixed news from us at Crouton today. drivewaY have broken up, so the Pizza Hut gig is no longer happening, and we missed out on the BRIT compilation cd (bastards!!). But, we almost certainly have access to a mini-bus for Friday night's gig in Maryborough!! That certainly solved some transport problems, and it should be heaps of fun. A few of our top groupies will now probably be able to make the trip with us.

5/8: Another gig has passed us by: the party last night. It went ok, but the sound wasn't great. A couple of extra bands showed up to play that we didn't know about, so there was gear everywhere!! Bletherism's first public airing wasn't exactly one for the books, but it wasn't terrible. All looking forward to the Maryborough gig this friday. We may be getting a bus to take down, and if so, a few 'lucky' fans may get to come with us. E-mail us - crouton@musician.org - if you are interested. More news later this week.

31/7: More details about the Maryborough gig. It's on next Friday, check the gigs page for more details. It's called Push Start, and we'll be in the Battle of the Bands. Sugarfiend will also be playing, as will a Maryborough band called Naked Heart, but not in the BoB.

27/7: We are now definitely going to be part of the BRIT compilation cd this year. We will record one studio track, and also include one live track on the cd. The live stuff will be recorded at a gig for us and a few other bands on the cd, on the 24th of August. Also news in the last few days is that we are playing at a party next Saturday night (4.8), with drivewaY and Laxative Effect.

24/7: I made a bit of a boo-boo in yesterday's news: the tickets for drivewaY's cd launch (at Pizza Hut), are $10, not $15 (I've changed yesterday's news as well). The extra five dollars included the price of a drivewaY cd. Tickets aren't available yet, but they should be soon...we'll keep you posted.

23/7: The Pizza Hut gig is definitely on! Unfortunately, drivewaY could only have one support band, so Laxative Effect are no longer playing. The gig will probably be on the 4th of September (sorry about the indefinite-ness, but these things take organising). Tickets are $10 and can be bought off us or drivewaY, or over the phone, but we don't know how yet...we'll keep you posted.
