Bruise

Vacant joy
of solitude, his selfish mind
He knows
the price to pay

Childhood toy
It kept him safe but he grew up
It's thrown
him away

Videos and popcorn
but the bruise can still be seen
It's deeper this time
it might be for good

Time still flies
The clock still says it's half-past twelve
She knows
that's not true

Dreamy lies
still hold the truth when all is said
and done
it's good as new

The silver lining breaks
and lets the sun shine through
I touch my dream
and when I wake
I'm by myself
but I'm not lonely

Videos and popcorn
as the bruise begins to heal
It's deeper this time
but it's not for good

Info

Originally called Dream, this song has the most complex chords and bass line of any Crouton song so far. That's doesn't mean it's that complex though. At first Bruise was actually a fairly mellow song, but the chorus and bridge turned out very rock.
